Mississippi Pot Roast!

Image
Well fall made its presence know this past week with the temperature dipping down and leaving that cool fall brisk in the air. This got me in the mood for something warm and from my crockpot. I've seen a recipe going around for a few weeks that we have never tried, so I thought it would be the perfect time to make it, Mississippi pot roast. Now I totally cannot take credit for this recipe and in doing my research on this, I found that it literally has 5 ingredients and they are always the same. Kuddos to the person that did come up with this! It is absolutely amazing and my family's new favorite pot roast! Even my kiddos that don't normally like the pepperoncini peppers that are in this meal loved it! Make this the next time you are in the mood for a great pot roast and it will be sure to be your family's new favorite! What's cooking in my kitchen this week: Mississippi pot roast What you'll need: 3-4 lb chuck roast 1 package ranch dressing mix 1 pack

Monkey bread!

Does it seem like the weeks are getting shorter and shorter to anyone else? This past week just flew by and left me scrambling to figure out what I was going to share with you all. One thing my kids will never pass up on is something sweet, so this got me thinking about one of their all time favorites - monkey bread. While the whole process is time consuming, as the dough has to be rested and cold, it is really simple to make and definitely worth the time it does take to make this; usually I start the night before so I can finish in the morning. This sweet treat is also lots of fun to eat as is a pull-apart bread, making it a family activity while eating. Mmm mmm, and there's just something about the way brown sugar, butter, and cinnamon all smell when they are baking! Even the hubby joked, "Where is everyone else's? I've got mine." Make this for your family's next sweet treat and monkey bread will be their new favorite! What's cooking in my kitchen t

Spaghetti!

My family just loves spaghetti and it's been a while since I've made homemade spaghetti sauce. With all the ingredients in my pantry, I decided that I would make it for them this past week. Making spaghetti sauce is super simple, with the majority of the work done simmering on the stove for a few hours. Garlic bread just goes with spaghetti, so since I was doing things homemade, I pulled out my recipe for garlic French bread too. The family loved this so much, there wasn't a single bit left after dinner!  Make this the next time you are in the mood for a good classic and the whole family will be sure to enjoy. What's cooking in my kitchen this week: Homemade spaghetti with garlic French bread What you'll need: 1 lb ground pork* 54 ounces tomato sauce 14.5 oz diced tomatoes 3 cloves garlic, minced 1 large shallot handful fresh basil 2 tsp salt 1 tsp pepper 1 1/2 tsp oregano 1 tsp Italian seasoning 1/4 tsp crushed red pepper 1 Tbsp sherry wine 1 T
