New Kitchen!

Image
This last week was super busy for us as it was official move day! As with any move, things went smoothly and then there were things that didn't go according to plan, but we are now in our new house! The lack of sleep and sore muscles are totally worth it. Have to get back to the unpacking now, but as promised last week, I have pictures of my new kitchen to share. I'll be back next with with recipes to share! Breakfast bar and island. Where all the cooking is gonna happen. Our front door and pretty flowers that greet you! Sunset from our deck. Did you know? On this day in 1868 Kit Carson, American frontiersman, died.  His last words were supposedly "Wish I had time for just one more bowl of chili."

Mother's Day!

So my dear readers, as I wrote in last week's blog we bought a house and are in the process of moving - this upcoming weekend we will be moving all the big stuff and officially be all moved in. Due to this, I haven't had any time to make any home cooked meals, so don't have a recipe to share with you this week and probably won't have one next week either. I'm sorry about this, but I promise to be back in full force after the move! I do have to give a shout-out to my hubby and boys as they cooked me a nice dinner for Mother's Day this weekend. The hubby grilled ribeye steaks, after marinading in my new favorite marinade - brown sugar bourbon - while the boys made me a nice salad and roasted garlic mashed potatoes (the above picture was my dinner). Yum! Finished off with a tres leches cake, can you say spoiled!  I'll leave you all with a preview of my kitchen and some pictures of my garden, it's already established! Tune in next week as I'll share m

Teriyaki Chicken!

So I have some exciting news to share with you all...my kitchen is getting an upgrade! The hubby and I have purchased our first house and I'm getting a whole new kitchen!! It is absolutely amazing and I'll share pictures with you in a future post. With that being said, we are now moving eight people, a dog, a cat, and a houseful of things and I don't have much time for home cooking. I did manage this last week, however, to whip up this teriyaki chicken dish and the family absolutely loved it. It was actually the first time I've attempted this from scratch, but after doing some research I felt like I could pull it off and it wouldn't be too time consuming. It turned out great and the most time consuming thing for me was to debone the chicken thighs I had. Make this the next time you are in to mood for some Asian flavors and your family will be sure to enjoy it! What's cooking in my kitchen this week: Teriyaki chicken What you'll need: 4-5 lbs chicken

Italian Sausage Pasta!

Another food my family absolutely loves is pasta - in fact, one kiddo would eat nothing but pasta if we would let her! Over the years I've played around with different pasta recipes and have finally developed this recipe to what it is now. I particularly like it because it's a fresh pasta dish that doesn't take hours to make and also is good on the budget. The sweet Italian sausage compliments the sweet of the basil and grape tomatoes to make your taste buds jump with joy! This dish is so popular at my house, it just happens to be one of the requests for dinner for the next kiddo's birthday. Make this the next time your family wants homemade pasta and they'll be sure to ask for it again and again! What's cooking in my kitchen this week: Italian sausage pasta What you'll need: 2 lbs sweet Italian sausage 1 1/2 boxes (16 oz each) dried pasta 1 package (10 oz) grape tomatoes 1 package (.66 oz) basil 1 shallot 3-4 cloves garlic 1 tsp salt 1/2 tsp
