Pancakes!

Well the end of the year is upon us and that means holiday season is coming to an end. I hope everyone has had a wonderful holiday season filled with lots of love and joy! As our family celebrates Christmas, this past week and weekend were full of baking and cooking and didn't leave me much time to get a recipe together to share with you all. The kids are also home from school for winter break and my trusty go-to for hot breakfast they love are pancakes, so I decided this would be perfect to share with you all. This recipe originally came from my dad, who made pancakes almost every weekend when I was little. I have played around with it a bit, like I do with every recipe, but I have found my little adjustments make the fluffiest and tastiest pancakes out there. The kids love them so much they have requested them for school functions and I have made over 100 at a time to fulfill the requests! Make this the next time would want a hot, easy breakfast and your family will be asking

Well it's almost Christmas (I can't believe there's only 5 days left until then!) and I thought I would share with you all one of our favorite family traditions, cinnamon buns. Every Christmas morning I make these as I can prepare them the night before and then just pop them in the oven Christmas morning while we are opening presents way too early - Santa is always up way too late. The kids love these so much they start asking in November to make sure I'm still making cinnamon buns for breakfast Christmas morning. What I love about these too, is how simple they are to make. Make these the next time your in the mood for a warm and comforting breakfast and the family will be asking for it for years to come! What's cooking in my kitchen this week: Cinnamon buns What you'll need: 1 package active dry yeast 1/4 cup warm water 1 cup scalded milk 2 Tbsp + 2 Tbsp butter 2 Tbsp + 1/4 cup sugar 1 tsp salt 1 well-beaten egg 3 1/2 cup sifted flour 1 Tbsp ci

Well it's that time of year for holiday baking and it's tradition that I make a ton of holiday cookies. This year I wanted to add some other goodies into the mix, so that had me searching in my grandmother's cook books, Better Homes and Gardens New Cookbook and Better Homes and Gardens New Cookbook Souvenir Addition. In it I not only found the traditional cookie recipes I wanted, I also found a gem of a recipe - gingerbread written on a piece of paper in my grandmother's handwriting. I love finding handwritten recipes! She also had a cut out from a magazine about an easy applesauce cake that sounded promising. With these recipes found, I knew I had to try them out with my cookie line up of chocolate chip, peanut butter, oatmeal, and sugar cookies. Something still seemed missing, and after some more thought about holiday goodies, I decided that it was fudge that was missing. With my holiday baking plans all together, I was a baking fool all weekend! The kids loved the
